This is The place Where I Becomes We

Tess Vetter (Aides Project)

Chorus:
I’m on my way to pine trees and mountains
Back to my home where I’m meant to be
I can hear the lake softly calling
This is the place where I becomes we.

Verses:
Opening Day, so many new faces
Greeted by counselors at the Welcome Tree
We all came from so many places
But under the pines we’re all family.

Jump in the lake, I find myself smiling
The water is cold, but I’m here with you
A new perfect day with every sun rising
Wherever I go my heart remains true.

Chorus

Bridge:
The end is near but we stick together
For several years I’ve called you my home
Opened my heart to tears and to laughter
Right by my sisters I know I’ve grown.

Chorus

First Year

Annie Learned

This is my first year and I had a lot of fun. I made a lot of friends. I love all of the activities and one of my most favorite activities is swimming. I love swimming when it’s hot.

I like every Sunday when all of the cabin groups go and dressup and every night there are a lot of very fun EPs. I love going hiking with all of my friends.

Even though I miss my dad, when I’m gone I will still miss all of my friends.

I love the lake. I love the waves. I love all the counselors and I’m so nervous to do the lower camp play. I love that everyone here is so nice and funny.

I wish camp was going longer. I feel so happy to be at Onaway. I can’t wait to come back next year. I have so much fun. I wonder how much fun I will have next year.

I love Onaway. Oh, Onaway, I will miss you when I’m gone. I love Camp Onaway!!!

You won’t mind the water once you’re in
Swim to the right, float, then dive in

The Things I hold Close to my Heart

Elsa Dittmeier

Every year, it’s been different
First time I opened the doors, I didn’t know all your names
But I was brave enough to start first conversations
And realized, that we’re all kind of the same

Heaven knows that we don’t have forever
But maybe seven weeks is all we really need
To get to know these wonderful people
Even though the summer ends with unparalleled sped

Every year, it’s been amazing
plunging into cold water or eating too much cake
We’ve all had countless fantastic adventures
Or unexpected fun on this beautiful lake

Chorus

I want it all
Year after year
Every moment of laughter
Every friendship
And every tear

And next year when I leave, I know it’ll be different
I’ll come back, maybe better but not the same
If I can do anything, it’ll be to promise
To remember the memories and never forget all of your names
