THE ONAWAY ENDOWMENT

The Onaway experience is funded by three sources: Tuition from camper families, the Onaway Fund from annual donations, and the Onaway Endowment – a draw on Onaway’s investments.

The Onaway Endowment is our savings, our investment portfolio. Gifts are invested and only a small portion is spent each year, approximately 4%, so the principle can grow and give Onaway a secure foundation, a source of annual income and a safety net for future unexpected challenges. Gifts to the endowment come in two forms: unrestricted gifts, to be used for any purpose Onaway deems necessary, and restricted gifts donated for a specific use, such as scholarships, staff training or a specific camp activity.

If you are able to donate to Onaway, we hope that you will first support the Onaway Fund, annually, or even monthly by joining Onaway All Year – our automated recurring gift program, giving the gift of an Onaway summer to girls this year. If you are further inspired to help Onaway build her savings, ensuring that future generations of girls can receive the gift of Onaway, we welcome contributions to our endowment.
