THE ONAWAY FUND

An Onaway education is funded by three sources: Tuition from camper families, the Onaway Fund from annual donations, and the Onaway Endowment – a draw on Onaway’s investments.

The Onaway Fund

The Onaway Fund (Onaway’s Annual Fund) keeps Onaway ticking “in summer and in spring-aling-aling and all the whole year through”!

Believe it or not, camper tuition only covers about 75% of the cost of a girl’s summer. The remainder is made up by hundreds of donations every year to the Onaway Fund.

Your gifts work together to support camp operations, scholarships, staff and council salaries and training, program activities and the maintenance of Onaway’s many buildings, facilities and beautiful natural surroundings. Every precious contribution to the Onaway Fund helps keep the boats afloat and Mt. Washington Hot Bread rising!

Onaway All Year

The Gift that Keeps on Giving! One easy way to be a loyal Onaway Fund donor is to set up recurring gifts by credit card or through your bank’s bill payment program. A smaller monthly payment may be more manageable for some than one larger annual payment, and it adds up significantly!

Matching Gifts

Double the Joy of Giving! Matching Gifts by your employer let you DOUBLE the impact of your contribution. Ask your Human Resources department at your place of work or your spouse’s place of work if they have a Matching Gift program. Many companies do and they are eager to donate to the nonprofits their employees love and support.

In order to meet the matching gift qualifications of some companies, it may be important for your employer to know that Onaway is a 501 (c)(3), classified by the IRS and the State of NH as an educational institution. Our Federal Tax ID # is 02-0261393.
